Planning Officer to JSS

Seize the opportunity to work with logistics that make a difference, nationally and internationally. As a planning officer, you will drive both the planning and execution of tasks assigned to JSS. The tasks include maintaining and developing the unit's capabilities in a national context as well as tasks related to the area of international logistics.

About the Unit

Joint Service Support (JSS) is one of 7 units within FMLOG. JSS's main areas are to support the Armed Forces' international operations in the areas of international operations and missions. JSS is responsible for establishing, developing, maintaining, and closing international missions within the framework of supply, technical services, and transport services. Furthermore, JSS performs extensive work to support the Armed Forces' operations within the framework of bilateral, multinational, and NATO operations. Within this framework, JSS also conducts training for logistics personnel prior to missions and operations. Main Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities as a planning officer are to support the unit in planning and executing activities related to both national and international tasks at all levels of conflict.

As a Planning Officer, you will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring JSS tasks in FMLOG GP/JSS SO.
  • Participating in preparations for support to missions and operations.
  • Leading the planning within JSS regarding the development of support to missions and operations.
  • Producing and following up on JSS governing documents.
  • Supporting C JSS within the framework of internal and external communication.
  • Supporting JSS department heads as needed.
  • Coordinating, as order editor, larger tasks that involve several of JSS's departments.
  • Planning and conducting training related to basic soldier training for the unit.
  • Planning for JSS's role in the development of FMLOG as a combat unit.

In addition to this, you will provide support to deployed units in the operational area in accordance with FMLOG JSS logistics support plan. Additionally, you will conduct training for units that will be part of international missions as part of the preparations for rotating units. You will also represent the JSS management function at meetings and/or projects with other units and/or processes.

Furthermore, you will participate in the department's work regarding development, well-being, and improvement of operations as well as any training required for the position.

Qualifications

  • Swedish citizenship
  • Completed officer training or specialist officer training
  • Appointed sergeant/administrator (SO7/SO8) or lieutenant/captain (OF1/OF2)
  • Driver's license B (manual)
  • Good ability to express oneself in speech and writing in Swedish and English

Meritorious

  • Education and experience of working in LIFT or SAP/PRIO
  • Completed international service in a logistics position
  • Experience of working with supply or technical services within the Armed Forces

Personal Qualities

We are looking for someone who enjoys a varied position with a high degree of independent work and responsibility, including both administrative and practical tasks. You have good communication and collaboration skills and are unpretentious in your contacts with others. You thrive with varied tasks in a dynamic environment and do not hesitate to support when needed. You are structured and have good analytical skills.

Employment type: Permanent. A six-month probationary period may apply if you are not already employed as a professional officer.

Travel: Travel is included in the position, both within Sweden and internationally, including to areas affected by conflict.
